2023 was a year of writing: I worked on projects in film and TV and began writing a new play — the latter my focus at MacDowell this December. Also this year, I enjoyed conversations with East Forest, Raanan Hershberg, and Scare U on topics ranging from non-physicalist theories of consciousness to how the horror genre introduced me to dramatic storytelling. Now that we are past the long WGA strike, I look forward to the continued development of my projects in 2024, with the hope that at least one begins to come to fruition…

I’m thrilled to be a 2023 MacDowell Fellow. I’ll travel to Peterborough, New Hampshire for my residency this December.
For the fourth time, I talk with East Forest. We get into the mysteries of consciousness, my interest in Bernardo Kastrup and analytic idealism, parapsychology, psychedelics, some developments in my creative process, and his new album. Our chat is available on Apple, Spotify, and elsewhere.

I had a blast talking with the hilarious comedian Raanan Hershberg on his podcast.
2022 saw my first world premiere play since 2017, The Narcissist at Chichester Festival Theatre. Postponed from the 2020 season and co-produced with Fictionhouse, the play was also published by Methuen in tandem with its opening in the late summer. Prior and subsequent to the production, I worked on new projects and ideas for theatre, film, and TV, and continued to teach at the New School — interrupted by our part-time faculty union’s strike in mid-November.
12/11 update: our union reached an agreement with The New School and we have ended our strike.

I was asked to curate a selection of plays I admire for the Drama Book Shop in partnership with the Dramatists Guild. My display should be up for the next two months or so.
Methuen has published The Narcissist, available on Kindle now and in paperback soon.
The Narcissist has opened at Chichester Festival Theatre and runs through September 24.

For the third time in the last few years, I chatted with East Forest. We talk about how I’ve experienced the pandemic and its impact on how I think of myself as an artist.
After a two-year pandemic delay, The Narcissist gets its world premiere at Chichester Festival Theatre this summer, directed by Josh Seymour.
